These terms govern the relationship between Transportes SiBo S.A. (hereinafter, “SiBo”) and the natural or legal person who contracts any of the services offered through transportessibo.com, its mobile applications or commercial channels (hereinafter, the “Client”).
1. Nature of the service
SiBo operates as a coordination platform and aggregator of tourism, executive and corporate transportation services in Costa Rica, with regional reach. Physical execution of transportation is carried out by owned vehicles and certified affiliate drivers, all complying with the Traffic Law (Law 9078) and the regulations of the Public Transportation Council (CTP) and the MOPT.
2. Bookings and confirmation
Every request is registered as tentative until SiBo confirms availability by email or message. Operational confirmations are sent 24 hours and 2 hours before the service. It is the Client's responsibility to verify the trip details on each confirmation.
3. Rates and invoicing
- Rates are quoted in Costa Rican colones (CRC) or US dollars (USD) depending on the Client's preference and the BCCR exchange rate of the day.
- All rates include the value-added tax (VAT 13%) unless expressly stated otherwise.
- The electronic invoice is issued in accordance with Ministry of Finance provisions and delivered to the registered email within 48 hours after the service.
- Pre-paid services are backed by a proforma invoice; the final electronic invoice is issued after delivery.
4. Payment methods
SiBo accepts credit/debit card (Visa, MasterCard, AmEx), SINPE Móvil transfer, interbank transfer and corporate post-paid invoicing for accounts with approved credit. Cash is not accepted inside the vehicle without prior authorization.
5. Luggage and restrictions
- Each passenger is entitled to one large piece of luggage and one carry-on. Additional luggage must be declared at booking time.
- We do not transport: animals without proper carriers, hazardous goods (fuels, explosives, controlled substances), weapons without current permits, or commercial cargo with value exceeding the INS insurance coverage.
- Consumption of alcohol, illegal substances or tobacco inside the vehicle is prohibited. The Client may request stops for refreshments.
6. Wait times and delays
The driver waits at the pickup point up to 15 minutes at no extra charge for regular transfers and up to 60 minutes for transfers with a flight confirmed in the system. Additional time is billed at the current hourly rate. Delays attributable to SiBo do not generate a surcharge and, depending on severity, may result in a partial refund.
7. Insurance
All vehicles carry an INS voluntary civil liability insurance with minimum coverage of US$1,000,000 and a third-party damages policy. Passenger belongings are the passenger's responsibility unless damage is attributable to SiBo or its operators.
8. Cancellations and refunds
The specific cancellation policy is detailed in the Cancellation policy. In general, cancellations more than 24 hours in advance do not incur a charge; late cancellations or no-shows may be charged up to 100% of the service.
9. Passenger conduct
The driver is empowered to interrupt the service if the Client's or passengers' behavior endangers safety, breaks the law or disrespects the staff. In such cases no refund applies and the incident is documented.
10. Limitation of liability
SiBo does not assume responsibility for: missed flights when the Client booked with less margin than recommended by the team (minimum 3 hours for international flights), force majeure events (protests, road closures, extreme weather, earthquakes), or for incorrect information provided by the Client.
11. Intellectual property
The transportessibo.com site, its design, brand, content and code are the property of Transportes SiBo S.A. and DM IA Solutions. Total or partial reproduction without written authorization is prohibited.
12. Governing law and dispute resolution
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Costa Rica. Any dispute will preferably be resolved through direct negotiation; otherwise, the parties submit to the jurisdiction of the civil courts of San José.
